Gallery Artist Application

Opening Friday, October 2nd, 5PM-8PM

Hey there, we are SO happy you’re here, and cannot wait to see what you do.

We are accepting applications from ALL Queer and Trans Bay Area artists who work in ALL mediums. With that said, as a Castro based business in a space with profound history, we strive to build on that legacy by promoting representation where it has been historically lacking. Our priority is to show the work of disenfranchised, emerging, and underrepresented artists.

This exhibition will be shown at Queer Arts Featured at 575 Castro St. from October 2nd - November 29th.

About UnSupervised

In conjunction with the Fall of Freedom campaign, and on the eve of the District 8 supervisorial election, Queer Arts Featured wishes to uplift art that speaks to what most of us are feeling on a local, national, and global scale.

This exhibition is a critical look at our political leadership and its effect on our daily lives, a hopeful exploration of equitable futures, and a celebration of what we create for ourselves, together.

How To Apply

Let us say, we know that applications feel like a process. Our goal is to reduce barriers Bay Area artists face in getting their work out into the world, so come as you are! We’d love to get to know you and your work on your terms, and you can apply in any of the following ways: written response, upload a video or audio clip with your answers (all in the application below), or reach out to rosie@queerartsfeatured.com to schedule a Zoom or in person interview. Please reach out if you have any other accessibility questions or needs as well. We value all forms of communication.

Remember, this is a space to celebrate, experiment, provoke, and explore, so think outside the box and show us how you see the world. We can’t wait to see what you share.

The submission deadline to apply is Sunday, September 20th at 10PM.

Thank you for being a part of the Queer A.F. community, and please reach out with any questions on the application below.
